About Paw & Order Dog Training

The Business that Created a Family

Paw & Order Dog Training was established in 2013 in Pittsburgh by Elissa Weimer-Sentner. She served as a Combat Military Police Officer from 2007 to 2014. After graduating at the top of her class from California University of Pennsylvania, Elissa completed a highly selective Professional Dog Training Program as an outstanding graduate in 2012 and began her career as a professional dog trainer.

In 2014, Steve Sentner enlisted Elissa’s expertise to train his Shiba Inu, who was displaying signs of aggression at just six months old. What started as a client-trainer relationship blossomed into a romance, and the two were married in 2015. In 2016, Elissa rebranded her business to Paw & Order, at which point Steve transitioned from his corporate career to oversee all marketing and business operations.

In 2020, right before the pandemic hit, Steve and Elissa decided to spread Paw & Order nationwide. They added seven locations, three more in Western Pennsylvania and one in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, and Minnesota. Every trainer went through the same rigorous Paw & Order Dog Training Academy. This program consists of extensive one-on-one coaching and shadowing directly with our Elissa, as well as our other highly skilled professional dog trainers. We carefully evaluate every trainer before unleashing them into the world!
